Caught On Camera: Crows Creating And Using Tools To Hunt

Researchers from the United Kingdom have captured footage of wild crows creating and using tools for the first time ever.

Crows use tools. And such behavior was recently caught on video in the wild. 

A research team outfitted multiple New Caledonian crows with small cameras that offered a view from the crows' underbelly.

After viewing the footage frame-by-frame, the researchers discovered two distinct instances of crows making a hooked stick tool. That same tool was later used to look for food inside of tree nooks and amidst the litter of fallen leaves.
