British teen hit by bus and dragged 200 yards after falling off hoverboard

LONDON — A teenager has been killed in a freak accident that authorities say may be the first hoverboard-related death in Britain, according to a report by the Guardian.
Nawaf Al-Tuwayan was struggling to maintain balance while riding a self-balancing two-wheeled board, more commonly referred to as a hoverboard, on Thursday night in north-west London when he reportedly fell face-first into the street.
He attempted to get up, but didn't get to his feet before tragedy struck.
"He was scrambling to get to his feet when the bus came round the corner and hit him," said witness Jeffery Mingle, according to the Daily Mail.
The bus driver apparently didn't even notice anything had happened and Al-Tuwayan was dragged underneath the vehicle some 200 yards down the street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The bus driver was not arrested and authorities are pursuing an ongoing investigation.
