Civil society groups protesting climate negotiations by world leaders outside the Paris Climate Summit call the nearly final document a death warrant for people on the planet. They charge that rich countries are refusing to pay their historic debt to the countries most affected by climate change and insist that the text is far from what the world needs to survive the climate crisis. Over the weekend thousands participated in the Alternative Summit, where they also continued to demand inclusion in the official decision-making process on the future of the world.
