Defence & Diplomacy: Afghan Peace Process-Fresh Initiatives
The meeting between Afghan President Dr. Ashraf Ghani and Pakistan's Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of the Paris Global Warming Summit was fruitful as the Afghan President has accepted the invitation by Pakistan to co-host and attend the Heart of Asia Conference being organized in Islamabad on December 8-9, 2015.
The problems between Pakistan need to be sorted out and Pakistan must extend maximum support to Afghanistan for them to overcome their trials and tribulations. On the other hand, Afghans need to be a little patient with Pakistan and not doubt its sincerity.
US and China have the observer status in the peace talks between the Afghan Taliban and Government . This process must restart without preconditions.
