Argentina: Macri Announces Initial Policies

Argentinean President-Elect Mauricio Macri held a press conference in which he unveiled some of the conservative policies his administration will follow. In economic policy, he said he would implement a fixed rate currency exchange system. In foreign affairs, Macri said he would strengthen ties with the Pacific Alliance, represented in Latin America by Peru, Chile, Mexico, and Colombia and seek the suspension of Venezuela from the Mercosur trade bloc due to its supposed human rights violations. teleSUR
