The second-largest diamond of gem quality in the world has been recovered from a mine in Botswana.
At 1,111 carats, the Type IIa diamond is the largest such stone to have ever been found using modern processing techniques.
And, its exceptional nature doesn’t stop there.
According to a press release issued by diamond producer Lucara, "The stone measures 65mm x 56mm x 40mm in size and is the largest ever to be recovered in Botswana."
