Lives - Venezuela’s National Children’s Orchestra on Tour
The National Children’s Orchestra of Venezuela made its debut in Caracas with Stravinsky’s Scherzo Fantasique and Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony. We now join the young musicians on a tour through the Llanos and Amazonas regions of Venezuela to enjoy traditional music and dance. We meet the young conductor Jose Luis Alvaray , better known as the “Caribbean Volcano,” who is studying percussion. And we also speak to the orchestra’s tuba player Gleyber Cardenas, who says that music is a global language. “For example, if you play something sad in China, they’re going to understand,” he tells us. teleSUR
