Researchers Believe Homo Sapiens Traveled From Africa Far Earlier Than Thought

Archaeologists have found evidence they believe indicates early humans began to spread from Africa much sooner than believed.

The current body of knowledge about early Homo sapiens’ travel from Africa places the dawn of the dispersion at about 60,000 years ago. 
However, archaeologists studying a cave system in China’s Hunan Province found evidence that indicates the spread began 80,000-120,000 years ago.

Their discovery and recently published study also suggest China, not Europe, was the first place inhabited by the trekkers.


The researchers gleaned all of this from 47 teeth.
