Ten people were killed after a gunman opened fire at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon on Thursday, about 180 miles south of Portland, the State's largest city. The assailant, 26-year-old Umpqua CC student Chris Harper Mercer, was found dead by police, although authorities have not confirmed whether he died as a result of police fire or from suicide. Mercer burst into classes and started shooting, killing at least 10 people and wounding 20 others. School buses evacuated students while officers cordoned off the college to investigate the scene.
