Venezuela to Allow Deported Colombians to Return

Venezuela will allow around 1500 deported Colombians to return to Venezuela and to legalize their status, according to a statement just released by the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR). Venezuela closed the border and deported the Colombians illegally living in the country three weeks ago in an effort to clamp down on paramilitary activity and smuggling. The agreement by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and UNASUR Secretary General was made on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly Meeting in New York. teleSUR
