African economy: 'What is happening in one part of Africa is not the whole story'

How easy is it to do business in Africa today? FRANCE 24's Georja Calvin-Smith asks Makhtar Diop, the World Bank's Vice President for Africa.
Makhtar Diop warns against making generalisations about the whole African economy based on a crisis in one country. "The world economy has been slowing down and Africa is not isolated from the rest of the world", he explains. For him, falling commodity prices and lower demand in China are affecting African growth more than political instabilty in Burundi, for example. "I believe that now investors are mature and understand that what is happening in one part of Africa is not the whole story about Africa", he says.
