Colombians Claiming Deportation to Receive Benefits

Many Colombians are falsely claiming to have been deported by Venezuela back to their home country in order to take advantage of benefits granted by Bogota. Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos announced that those deported would receive jobs and cash benefits. While 80,000 Colombians have returned home fearing deportation, the actual number of those repatriated and thereby eligible for the benefits is considerably lower. teleSUR
