Fasting On THe Day Of Arafaah Is An Expiation For Two Years

Fasting on the day of Arafah is an expiation for two years.
It was reported from Abu Qutaadah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was asked about fasting on the Day of ‘Arafaah. He said, “It expiates for the sins of the previous year and of the coming year.” Narrated by Muslim.
This (fasting) is mustahabb for those who are not on Hajj. In the case of the one who is on Hajj, it is not Sunnah for him to fast on the Day of ‘Arafaah, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not fast on this day in ‘Arafaah. It was narrated that he forbade fasting on the Day of ‘Arafaah in ‘Arafaah.

أن صيامه يكفر سنتين :
فقد ورد عن أبي قتادة رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم سئل عن صوم يوم عرفة فقال : " يكفر السنة الماضية والسنة القابلة " رواه مسلم .
وهذا إنما يستحب لغير الحاج ، أما الحاج فلا يسن له صيام يوم عرفة ؛ لأن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ترك صومه ، وروي عنه أنه نهى عن صوم يوم عرفة بعرفة .

یوم عرفہ کا روزہ دوسال کے گناہوں کا کفارہ ہے :
قتادہ رضي اللہ تعالی عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یوم عرفہ کے روزہ کےبارہ میں فرمایا :
( یہ گزرے ہوۓ اورآنے والے سال کے گناہوں کاکفارہ ہے ) صحیح مسلم ۔
یہ روزہ حاجی کے لیے رکھنا مستحب نہیں اس لیے کہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس کا ررزہ ترک کیا تھا ، اوریہ بھی مروی ہے کہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یوم عرفہ کا میدان عرفات میں روزہ رکھنے سے منع فرمایا ہے ، لھذا حاجی کے علاوہ باقی سب کے لیے یہ روزہ رکھنا مستحب ہے ۔
