Ex-Guatemalan President Express Incredulity at Charges

Former Guatemalan President Otto Perez Molina, who resigned last week after being stripped of his parliamentary immunity in order to face corruption charges, reaffirmed his innocence and expressed shock and incredulity on being remanded to prison and placed on trial. A federal judge ruled there was sufficient evidence to try Perez Molina on fraud, bribery, and racketeering charges and remanded the former president to three months in prison while prosecutors build their case. teleSUR
