The Union of South American Nations presented Simon Bolivar's "Jamaica Letter" at a ceremony in its headquarters in the Ecuadoran capital. In the historic document, one of the most important in the region and written 200 years ago, the "liberator of the Americas" called on the region's inhabitants to unite and rise up against Spanish colonial rule in a fight for freedom and sought support from Europe for the independence struggle. The original document was found last year in Ecuador. Liz Scherffius reports from Quito. teleSUR
