Peru: Many Abuses Reported in Privatized Health System

The problems associated with a privatized medical system, such as those that exist in the United States, have also emerged in Peru. Oncosalud is a private health clinic that had the highest number of fines for malpractice and has refused to pay their fines in full, according to investigative reporters. Growing private medical businesses now have over 9,000 clinics, and large multinational corporations are increasingly monopolizing the services.
