Naltar valley, Gilgit
Naltar valley is about 1.5 hours drive from Gilgit. It is the most beautiful place in the whole Gilgit region. The terrain is full of forests and receives much greater rainfall than the adjacent areas. It's three lakes are popular for Trout fishing and those lakes can be reached only through a 4 wheeler.
The valley recently came in to lime light when a helicopter carrying ambassadors of foreign countries, crashed on an army school there due to bad weather. Most of the victims died on the spot. They had come there for a chair lift innaugration.
