1988 Voltar (Destro's General) Iron Grenadiers G.I. Joe review

This is a review of Destro's right-hand man, Voltar: general of the Iron Grenadier forces. He was first available in 1988 and re-released in 1989. He is not popular with collectors (and often grudgingly included with Iron Grenadiers toy collections) due to his bright pink and gold uniform and his abrupt introduction (and departure) in the comics. Voltar dies in G.I. Joe comic #98. Collectors must be careful with the figure since his accessories are made of a gold plastic that becomes brittle easily. ***The Battle Force 2000 logo on all 1988 Iron Grenadiers packaging is never explained. The 1988 introduction commercial even featured a battle with BF2000 vehicles, but weren't emphasized as the sole rival. Most collectors assume that this was a marketing scheme (sub-line vs. sub-line) that was dropped at the last minute.***
