Peru: Protests Resume Against Tia Maria Mine

Peruvians in the south of the country have resumed their protests against the billion dollar Tia Maria mining project. The demand that the government halt the project, which they say will damage the environment and diminish agricultural productivity in the region. An estimated 10,000 people will be negatively affected by the mine. Protests are scheduled to continue. teleSUR
