Tuli Kupferberg Love & Ashes English subtitles

August 6, 1966- the radio was broadcasting the wedding of Luci Baines Johnson to Pat Nugent, It was also the 21st anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima. On this day various East Village artists including Andy Warhol and the Velvet Underground gathered to make a record at ESP called Electric Newspaper to benefit the local newspaper East Village Other. Tuli , at the height of his Fugsian anti-war song writing career, wrote Love & Ashes to commemorate this coincidence. Vicki Pollon accompanies him and Peter Rawson on guitar. Montage : Thelma Blitz
