Allen Ginsberg Live at the Pyramid Club 1980

Beat poet laureate Allen Ginsberg, who left the planet April 5, 1997, is seen here at a small club/bar in the East Village of Manhattan performing some of own songs, "Don't Smoke" "Do the Meditation" "I'm a Dope Fiend," "The CIA Dope Calypso"and his own gay re-write of "The House of the Rising Sun." He is accompanied by Steve Taylor on Guitar and Heather Hardy on Violin. After Allen, Steve sings of moving version of the gospel classic "Steal Away to Jesus." He is followed by Stephan Ielpi of the punk band, The False Prophets
