Chile: Former Military Officials Arrested for Burning Students

Two former military officers who served under Agosto Pinochet in Chile have been arrested for burning two students in a protest against the dictatorship in 1986. Along with five non-commissioned officers, they are accused of setting fire to U.S. citizen Rodrigo Rojas, a photographer, and Carmen Gloria Quintana. Rojas died and Quintana was seriously disfigured, undergoing 40 operations and years of medical treatment. In 2013 a Human Rights organization filed a complaint on behalf of Rojas’ family, reopening the case. teleSUR
