Bouygues Telecom 'can survive alone' after rejecting takeover bid

The chief executive of the Bouygues group says its telecoms business can survive alone after its board rejected a €10 billion takeover from Altice, owner of rival network SFR. Martin Bouygues also said the decision was not based on political pressure from the French government, which had expressed concern over jobs and competition in the market.
