There’s much more to Volleyball than just a bump, set and spike, with athletes diving to keep the play alive and soaring above the net to score points against their opponents. Baku 2015 will be no exception as more than 330 athletes compete in one of the most popular team sports in Azerbaijan.
The Volleyball competition has the most competition days of any on the Baku 2015 sport programme, with action beginning on 13 June and finishing on 28 June 2015. The discipline consists of two medal events, with 12 teams competing in both the men’s and women’s tournaments, and will take place at the iconic Crystal Hall. Qualification for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games is also up for grabs.
