Japanese photographer vacuum seals couples together in portraits of love

Tokyo-based photographer Hal has created a new project called Flesh Love, which captures many varied couples in vacuum-sealed packages to — according to Hal — keep love fresh forever.

Hal said the idea is to demonstrate the human relationship. The artist bonds the lovers together by sucking air out of the bag with a vacuum cleaner, transforming them into a single being within the plastic encasement — a vacuum-sealed pack of love.

Hal said some of his subjects were so scared that one even peed inside the bag.
