Here's your chance to show support for Hong Kong democracy and be featured on our website. We're accepting video submissions to be part of a compilation video.
Some people in Hong Kong uploaded a video that went viral last week. Various celebrities and media figures submitted response videos singing the tune from Les Miserables.
They are singing because Beijing officials currently hand-pick Hong Kong's top political leader, and they only select those they deem patriotic. (to China)
This is supposed to stop in 2017. That's when China's parliament promised Hong Kong that it would be allowed to hold open democratic elections. Analysts now predict that China will renege on the deal, and maintain control over Hong Kong's government.
A demonstration called 'Occupy Central' is coming up on June 22. We're showing our support for the cause with a response song and we'd love to let your voice be heard as well.
People of all languages and musical abilities are encouraged to participate.
Record a video of yourself singing over the instrumental version at the end of this video. It'll be best if you wear headphones so only your voice gets recorded.
