Gruesome suicide: Bronx man decapitates himself

A 51-year-old man decapitated himself in the Bronx on Monday in an suicide by car.
The incident occurred in Hunts Point near the intersection between Longfellow and Randall avenues at around 9:30 a.m.
The man reportedly tied a metal chain to a pole, got into his white 2005 Honda CRV and wrapped the other end around his neck. He then hit the gas.
The man’s severed head landed on the street. His car continued speeding down the street until it crashed into a parked truck, sending his headless body flying out onto the concrete.
Police have not released the man’s name. It’s not clear why he killed himself, but police have ruled out any criminal action.
