WTFlorida: Christian Gomez decapitates mom with ax after being asked to move some boxes
A Florida man who had reportedly plotted to kill his mother for two days decapitated her with an ax on New Year’s Eve.
Christian Gomez, 23, became angry after his mom, Maria Suarez-Cassagne, 48, asked him to move some boxes into the attic. Gomez then hacked his mom with an ax multiple times and cut her head off.
Police received a call from Gomez’s younger brother Mario Gomez at around 7:30 p.m. Mario was found outside of the house and unharmed. Cassagne’s head was found in a garbage can outside of the house, with the headless body nearby.
Police caught up with Gomez, who was riding a bike a mile away from the home, 30 minutes later and caught him after a brief foot chase.
Mario told the police that Christian had been jealous and thought that his younger brother was Cassagne’s favorite child.
Gomez, who told police he plotted the murder for two days and had a prior arrest record for resisting an officer and loitering and prowling, flashed a creepy smile for his mug shot.
