Police seize Lamborghini owned by wealthy pilot, scrap it and sell it for parts

A pilot in the southern Taiwanese city of Taichung had a Lamborghini he had spent more than $500,000 on scrapped and sold for spare parts after failing to register the imported vehicle.

Lin Hsiu-fan was no doubt feeling pretty good about himself when a Lamborghini he had spent more than a pretty penny importing finally arrived nearly three years ago.

Lin, however, made rookie mistake that came back to bite him, and boy did it bite down hard.

After he failed to properly register his new high-end luxury vehicle local police confiscated it and kept it away from Lin for eight months, until a court decided the best thing to do with the impounded car was to demolish it and sell the scrap metal to local suppliers for a quarter per kilogram.
