UVA student Hannah Graham’s disappearance tied to 2009 murder, suspect Jesse Matthew charged

Police say they have linked a man in custody to the 2009 murder of Morgan Harrington, and that the same man could be responsible for as many as five deaths.
As the search for missing 18-year-old University of Virginia student Hannah Graham continues police say unspecified forensic clues have been discovered at the residence of the primary suspect Jesse Matthew.
Authorities are trying to connect the dots to discover whether the same suspect is responsible for a string of rapes and murders in the state of Virginia.
In 2002, suspect Jesse Matthew was accused of committing a rape near another college in Lynchburg, Virginia, although he was never arrested.
Following Morgan Harrington’s disappearance in 2009, the FBI released a police sketch. Associates of Matthew said they thought he looked like the sketch, but the investigation stalled.
Matthew worked as a taxi driver the year Morgan Harrington was abducted and witnesses say he would sometimes drive by colleges offering free rides to female students.
Harrington’s decomposed body was found on a farm in early 2010, just four miles from where she was last seen.
Jesse Matthew has now been charged with abducting Hannah Graham, and while her family is not giving up hope, she may sadly be the last victim of a serial killer.
