Japanese Foreign Minister Pledges Support for Cuba

Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida met with Cuban President Raul Castro on Saturday during his trip to the island to strengthen bilateral ties. The meeting came after Kishida spoke with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez and former President Fidel Castro. Discussions with the Japanese delegation revolved around the economy and trade, in which the Japanese Foreign Minister pledged support for Cuba as it changes its economic model. Several different countries have sent delegations to Cuba this year to explore business opportunities while the process of normalizing relations with the United States continues. teleSUR
