Estancia

In the Río de la Plata region of Argentina and Uruguay, ESTANCIA is an extensive rural estate largely devoted to cattle ranching and to some extent to the production of feed grain. The estancias are usually larger than ranches in North America.
"Gauchos", the equivalent of a North American Cowboy, usually run these ranches.
