Hidden taxi camera: Padlock used to beat driver in San Francisco cab attack

On Tuesday night, a man used a padlock to beat up a cab driver, seemingly for no reason. The images and sound from the in-taxi video aren't very clear, but if you listen closely you can hear the driver kindly telling the passenger that there is a closer BART train station he could drive him to — with the cab driver saying "that will save you a few bucks.'"
The video shows the passenger saying thank you, but then we see a metal padlock in his hand. The assailant waits for the right moment, and then starts beating the driver with the lock.
Cops are searching for the suspect, and ask that anyone who recognizes the suspect call authorities.
