14-yr-old allegedly beaten by cops

A 14-year-old boy succumbed to injuries after he was allegedly beaten up by cops in Lakhimpur district of Uttar Pradesh. The minor died at a hospital during treatment. He was first thrashed by a shopkeeper and his aids who caught him stealing toffees from his shop. The Superintendent of Police of the district has ordered an inquiry into the case. After being in police custody for some time, he was admitted to the hospital, where he died a few days later. The locals of the area protested against the police and blocked road.
