March 20, the first day of spring, 2015. The Chicago Symphony, under the direction of Frederick Stock performs Carl Goldmark's In Springtime Overture, Part 1, composed in 1888. Victrola 6576A was recorded at Orchestra Hall in Chicago December 20, 1925 and is one of the first electrical recordings. The 78 was transcribed using a 1911 Victrola and Canon sound recording. Thanks to Mike W who let me have use of the Groos Estate collection for a year to transcribe and share on DM.
