In-depth: BOK's record-low interest rate

And for more on the central bank's rate cut,... we're joined on the line by economics professor Yang Jun-sok from the Catholic University of Korea.

Thank you, professor, for joining us today.
Let's begin with your thoughts on the issue. Did this rate cut come at a reasonable time, in your opinion?

For people who don't have an economics background, could you explain how this will help revive the economy?

But cutting the rate wasn't as effective as had been hoped the last two times. What makes the central bank think that it will work this time?

What about the potential unwanted side effects? The biggest concern as of now is the mounting household debt. The rate cute won't help with that, so what should be done?

Does the central bank still have room to cut the rate further? What's the outlook, in your opinion?

Thank you for your valuable analysis, professor. We appreciate it.
