Swiss train collision injures 'scores of people'

Reports suggest scores of people have been injured after two passenger trains collided in Switzerland this morning.

Local police confirm there have been injuries, but not how many people have been wounded. Local media reports the figure stands at 49.

Some train carriages were derailed in the accident, which took place in the town of Rafz, some 30 kilometres north of Zurich.

Ambulances rushed to the scene.

The cause and magnitude of the incident are not yet known. However, local media reports suggest one train crashed into the back of another when the first train was forced to make an emergency stop.
