Lightning Strike Sets Fire to Tree in Perth

Lightning sparked fires across the western Australian city of Perth on Monday, February 2, as a thunderstorm brought heavy rain, flash flooding and wild winds to the city. The storm knocked out power to about 16,000 homes in Perth and uprooted trees. The Bureau of Meteorology issued a strong wind warning for Leeuwin, Albany and Esperance Coasts.This video, recorded in Balcatta, Perth, shows a tree burning after being struck by lightning.
