The Destiny of Massage Therapy
Massage Therapy obviously is the primary embodiment in healthcare of “high-touch”. What role can the lessons conveyed by massage and massage education play in the health and destiny of our world? In our profession there is an exciting push – this Educational Congress is a perfect example – for an even higher level of collaboration than in the past. In this discussion, David will explore ways our collaboration can create not only a healthier, more robust profession, but could contribute to a more “just, verdant and peaceful world”.
David Lauterstein is the author of The Deep Massage book, Putting the Soul Back in the Body, and has been, for 25 years, Co-Director of Lauterstein-Conway Massage School in Austin, He received the Teacher of the Year award from AMTA in 2012 and the AFMTE Educator of Year award, 2013. Besides teaching advanced courses at TLC in Austin, David teaches Deep Massage Courses and Zero Balancing internationally. He is also an accomplished musician and has produced the massage inspired CD, Roots and Branches.
