Me playing the Compton electrone organ model 347 at Immaculate Heart of Mary and St Dominic Catholic Church in Homerton, London.

I am playing the hymn 'O Sacred Heart' to the tune 'Laurence' which shows off the Hautboy, Strings, Clarinet and Flute stops. I was impressed at how close the sounds are to a pipe organ given that the organ was built in 1957 with electrostatic technology dating back to the 1930s.

Many thanks to the parish priest for kindly allowing me access to the church to play what is now an extremely rare instrument.

One thing to note - I am certainly no wizard of an organist but hope this video is able to give an illustration of what a Compton 347 electrone sounds like.

REQUEST: I am always on the lookout for Compton organs to play - particularly electrones - so if you know of any churches which still have these then please do let me know. I will happily give a donation or pay any applicable room hire charge.
