Supermarket
July 6th,1993

We took my mother on a trip to the Eden Supermarket in Falls

Church, Virginia.

My sister Hanh has always liked to explore asian communities around

us, and took this chance to introduce us to the area more than 2

hours away from home.

Delaware doesn't have a strong Vietnamese population nor does it

have a variety of Vietnamese food.

I must admit, at first glance, we were a little disappointed . The

shopping center was smaller, poorer, and dirtier than what we were

used to in Philadelphia, our other go-to asian community.

We chose to eat at Pho Hoa, the most famous Vietnammese restaurant

in the town.

The restaurant made up for the discouraging appearance of the

market. We were surprised to taste a traditional soup broth that

gave us memories of our home country.
No regrets from that point on. We promise to be back!
