In Dijon, France, the driver of a vehicle drove into pedestrians on purpose, injuring eleven people, with two victims in serious condition.

Reports say the driver was shouting “God is great,” in Arabic while attacking victims with his car on Sunday.

Over the course of half an hour, the man hit several people in five different locations, before being apprehended by police.

According to witnesses, the driver claims to be lashing out at people over his feelings about the “children of Palestine.”

One source claiming to be close to the investigation is quoted as saying: “The man, born in 1974, is apparently unbalanced and had been in a psychiatric hospital…For now his motives are still unclear.”

In another similar incident the day before in a different town of France, a man was shot down and killed by police after shouting the same words in Arabic, and wounding three officers with a knife.

Both of the attackers had previous run-ins with law enforcement, and authorities are trying to find out if their actions are related to radical Islamic groups that are part of conflicts happening in Iraq, Syria and elsewhere.
