Man Caught On Camera Stealing Purse Out Of Shopping Cart

An investigation has been launched to find a man who allegedly swiped a woman’s purse in Philadelphia.
An investigation has been launched to find a man who allegedly swiped a woman’s purse in Philadelphia. On the afternoon of Thursday, December 11th, a 60 year-old female left a CVS store on North Broad Street and got into her vehicle.
She inadvertently forgot her purse inside a shopping cart which had been left outside. The suspect, who was dressed in black, walked past the cart and appeared to go around the side of the building.
Moments later he re-appeared in plain view of the store’s surveillance cameras, reached into the cart and grabbed the purse. He stuffed the handbag under his jacket before quickly removing it.
He then attempted to stash the purse under the front end of a parked vehicle. Once he felt safe and was sure nobody was looking, he picked up the bag, went around to the side of the building and rifled through the contents.
The man then fled the scene on foot. According to police, the purse contained $700 in cash along with the victim’s identification.
