12kg Stingray caught by Surf casting at Desaru, Batu Layar Beach, Malaysia

Batu Layar Beach is located at eastern coast of the states of Johor in Malaysia. it's around 15km away from the famous tourist place, Desaru, This is a fishing spot that I always frequent, many good catch were reported there. So far nothing was shown on my CR untill this day!

Went there around 3am in the morning, me & my friends started baiting for Whithing, it remain as the all time favorite bait for targeting Stingray. As soon as we hooked up some, we wasted no time to toss the Whitting as further as we could into the South China Sea.

It was until around 10am in the morning the monster strike. I wasn't paying attention and made a mistake as the drag tension is too much. When she struck, the momentum was so great that it brought my rod down and she drag my rod towards the sea. Fortunately my friend saw and alerted me, I ran over as my rod tip was already in the sea, grabbed it and I gave it a hard struck and she's hooked! I fought for 15 minutes to bring her in.
