1. Arundhathiyars are scavengers.
2. Arundhathiyars are 'migrants'
Background: There are many dalit castes in Tamil Nadu as like in any other states. They can be largely divided into three different dalit castes, Aadi Dravidar (Paraiyar), Devendar (Pallar), Arundhathiyar (Sakkiliyar). Among these three castes Arundhathiyars who do leather working and engage in sanitation are beaten, suppressed by the two dalit castes. All of them claim Arundhathiyars are from Telugu country.
