Almost Five Million Strollers Recalled

Graco strollers have recalled strollers produced between 2000 and 2014 because of a faulty folding mechanism that could potentially amputate a baby's finger if it gets caught in-between it.

Strollers are meant to be an easy way to get around with a baby, until parents find out it could potentially amputate the top of their child's finger.

Recently, nearly five million Graco baby strollers were recalled.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, 11 injuries have been caused by the strollers, including six fingertip amputations, four partial-fingertip amputations and a single finger laceration.

A folding hinge mechanism on the side of the strollers is to blame for these accidents.

Strollers purchased between August 1st, 2000 and September 25th, 2014 are all part of the recall.

Eleven different models of strollers are involved, including Sierra, Capri, Glider and Travelmate.

The model type and manufacture date are printed on the white label beneath the stroller, near the rear wheel.

Owners are advised to contact Graco so they can receive a free repair kit, including hinge covers.
