Amrit Manthan is an old Hindi movie starring Chandra Mohan,Sureshbabu Mane, Nalini Tarkhad, Shanta Apte, Kelkar and Varde in lead roles. This classic Bollywood movie got released in year 1934.The classic movie starts with a sensational angle and the track moves around the Human and animal sacrifices to the gods and the godesses. The priest Chandramohan feared them to scrifice in the name of their families and karmas. Their king Krantivarma who is very rational and never believes in this type of traditions ordered to stop this type of tradition. Chandramohan being the very high preist of the cult, orders a man named Vishwagupta to assasinate the king. Poor Voshwagupta was helpless and can't do anything than following the order of the priest. But the priest betrayed him and gets him caught. Then the son (Madhavgupta) and daughter(Sumitra) of Vishwagupta with the help of princess and some other people take the revenge for their father and throws the priest out. There are many good and popular scenes which includes the legend about the turbulence of seas which is told twice in the movie , firstly by priest too tell the way of eradicating the evil and another by the general to reveal that demons can also appear in the disguise of gods. This film has a very strong political thrust which made the people rise in revolt.
