A UPS package handler working in the cargo section of the Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix, Arizona allegedly stole a diamond ring from his job.

According to court records, Walter Earl Morrison tucked the package under his shirt, thinking that it contained some cash.

When he found out that the package was actually a diamond ring, he traded the jewelry, worth around 160 thousand dollars, for a few grams of marijuana reportedly worth around twenty dollars.

According to Brent Taubman, the owner of House of Diamonds, any single stone worth more than one hundred thousand dollars is considered to be relatively expensive.

When the ring came up missing, the 20-year old worker admitted to his crime, saying that he made a mistake, but he still got fired from his job at UPS.

Morrison has also been charged with one count of felony theft, but the alleged thief wouldn’t answer the door at the address where he lives, and has refused to make any comments to the media.

A UPS spokesperson said that authorities were able to track down the stolen diamond ring, which has been delivered to the rightful owner.
