Nixie, The Wearable Drone Camera

One of the latest inventions in the world of gadgets that are suitable for wear is Nixie. It’s a camera that can be worn on a person’s wrist but the device does far more than snap pictures in a stationary manner.

There seems to be quite a bit of interest in wearable technology. One of the latest inventions is a flying camera called Nixie.

It’s worn on a person’s wrist but the device does far more than snap pictures in a stationary manner. Instead, Nixie transforms into a remote control quadcopter.

The gadget can take photos from all sorts of different angles minus the hassle element that is present with standard picture taking.

Its creators note “Nixie puts you front and center in your photos and videos-without requiring your hands, or you attention. From selfies to panoramas to continuous movies, it offers preset modes for any on-the-go situation.”

Nixie is still in the developmental phase, but in the future the goal is for it to fly off when the wearer makes a certain gesture. From there, it will hopefully be able to capture a moment and automatically fly back to the wrist.

Nine months ago, Intel launched the ‘Make It Wearable’ challenge and Nixie is one of ten projects that have made it to the final round.
