White tigers are solitary and powerful creatures that can weigh up to 660 pounds. Tragically, an Indian boy was recently killed by one of the large animals.

The fatal incident occurred at the Delhi zoo. According to the manager at the facility, the student jumped over the railing that led to the tiger’s enclosure.

One witness however, said the male was leaning over the low barricade and might have possibly fallen into the tiger’s area, while another claimed he was sitting on the enclosure.

An onlooker described the aftermath stating” I ran to the tiger enclosure where we saw that a white tiger had caught the student by his neck and he was writhing in pain. Some children threw small sticks and stones at the tiger.”

Reportedly, the victim was in agony for 10 to 15 minutes before he passed. Security staffers at the zoo did not have radio sets to call for backup or tranquilizer guns. Police arrived on scene promptly, however it was too late.

The boy had already been mauled to death
